This has got to stop - again

Sorry for the absence this week, folks, some numbers do not balance and it's taking me hours to find rounding errors in Excel worksheets. I found a $2 error in one worksheet, some nitwit in accounting was not handling rounding formulas properly and the $40M budget was off by $2. Good thing I'm here.

Anyway, one reader sent me this earlier this week. It seems some our good members in India are still not focusing on their work (and therefore on profitable growth), they are apparently preparing for our 2010 Annual Tour, which takes place THIS FALL folks. Yeah, like 6-8 months from now. If you putting your mind to work instead of singing off-key in your PJs, you'd be studying the fine art of installing Tivoli products. Or how to take 25% less time developing something while charging more to the customer. What's wrong with these people?

Analysts are bashing CGI for not investing further efforts in India, next time they challenge on this issue I'll show them this flick. Damn it.

More non-billable work

As if the CGI Magic Mushroom dance was not enough, someone brought to my attention the following clip from our '09 annual tour. Some members that are obviously not dressed for work perform some kind of ritual dance, I just hope that the objective behind all this is to bring more revenues to CGI but I doubt it. Even the guy who has an archtop guitar forgot to plug it, the whole idea of this dance thing still elude me.

Dear members from the eastern countries, CGI is not a night club. I want to see gloomy faces during the annual tour, this way I know you work hard.

This is so wrong

An anonymous reader sent me the following link over the week-end, this is a spoof of the official CGI India video that I talked about last week.

This is so wrong. How could laugh at people who are fundamentally happy at work, so happy that they perform a ritual dance for their beloved CEO? How often to you see that?

If only all CGI members could devote their residual energy to find new sources of revenues and increase profitable growth...

That Jonestown feeling

The '09 CGI annual tour was an opportunity for us to do a partnership with an anonymous pharmaceutical drug company. I can't tell you their name, but we're talking big guys. Anyway, we're now outsourcing all their IT systems on a 10-year contract.

In exchange for this service, they asked CGI to test an experimental drug on some of our members, nothing harmful they assured. So we did a secret test with our India business unit, we added some undisclosed substance in a bowl of Kool-Aid during one event, you can see the guys at 1:19 tasting the recipe.

What we didn't know is that the experimental substance does a weird thing to your brain when combined with Indian food. See for yourself.
